Professor H. Tracy Hall, Department of Chemistry, Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah, 84601. Dear Professor Hall: Helmuth Schloessin has handed me your letter to him dated November 1, 1971. I would certainly be glad to see you here during the week of April 10th, 1972 and I will arrange to cover transportation and living costs for your trip here from Boston. I presume you will want to enjoy a few days in Boston after receiving such a distinguished award from the ACS so I will tentatively plan on you being here for the Thursday and Friday of the week beginning April 10th, 1972 and will book you into one of the campus residences for those two nights. You may be interested to know that I have applied for funds for a larger press but it is impossible to make any accurate estimate of the chances of getting the money. We have no competition from elsewhere in Canada as far as the type of work is concerned but, as seems to be universal, money is short. Anyway, we should learn of our fate just about the time you arrive here. Best wishes. Yours sincerely, AEB/mp A. E. Beck Professor & Head, Geophysics Acting Chairman, Geology
